Pandora Music Genome Project

I hope everyone is enjoying the long weekend and you all had a great Thanksgiving! While your reheating left-overs and relaxing this weekend, I thought I'd fill everyone in on a website I found this year and something I'm definitely thank full for; pandora.

Whether you listen to music at the library, a coffee shop, your apartment or dorm room...you and I both know your iTunes playlist gets lame. Check out www.pandora.com, if you haven't already. You list the bands you like and create your own radio station, commercial free of course. Not only will pandora play the bands you love, but it will search through their data base and play bands they think you'll like! I've discovered a bunch of great music through pandora and pretty much tune in everyday. Check it out!

Also, check out last.fm. Similar to pandora, you can listen to music for FREE. For example, when the new Kings of Leon cd came out, I went to last.fm and listened to the whole cd, which I later bought...

It's simply...the biggest bar night of the year!

Ah...the day has finally come! It's officially the biggest bar night of 2008! Where will you be at 1:30 tomorrow morning? Here's why I ask...

I was at the Elbow Room last night with a couple friends and we were all talking about what was going on for tonight...crickets... For some reason this year doesn't seem to have the same pizazz or excitement about the night before Thanksgiving. I'm not sure if it's because the economy is shit, people are too busy with other stuff going on, or because this personal holiday has lost it's luster??

Well...I'm sure I'll find myself back at the Elbow Room, probably swing by Pub for a minute, walk down to Depot Town in search of drink specials...who knows, maybe I'll meet up with some friends in A2 or roam out to Royal Oak. I'm a dude, so it'll definitely be a last minute decision. But enough about me, I want to know what you're doing tonight.

(If you're not going out because you're getting up early to go kill bambi, save it please, and have fun sitting in the woods...by yourself...in the cold...not moving or making a sound...smelling like deer pee.)

EMU Football loses heartbreaker.

I seem to make it out to every Eastern home game and win or lose, I always leave entertained...(or still tipsy from the tailgate). Yesterday was no different. While on the road in Philly, visiting Temple, the Eagles lost a shootout 55-52. Quarterback, Andy Schmitt set a couple school records for passing and an NCAA record for most pass attempts without an interception. Check out www.emueagles.com for the full story and all the record breaking statistics.

Here's a question: When was the last time a team rolled up 52 points and lost?

Eastern's next and last game will be played at home this Friday against MAC rival CMU, with a 12:00 pm kickoff. It's fan appreciation day, and that means all tickets are FREE for everyone! Why should you go, other than the obvious reasons to support your squad? It beats pulling an all nighter to stand in line for 10 hours just to get 50% off that plasma TV that you both can't afford and can't afford to fix, when it breaks in 2 months.

Also, CMU quarterback Dan Lefevour, a junior, will be playing on Sundays some day. It'll be a fun match up to watch as our NFL bound linebacker Daniel Holtzclaw preys on Lefevour all afternoon.

Still Recovering!

Whew...what a night! College Night at Club Divine was of course nothing but a great time, but I think I must be getting old. I've been hurting all day.

Anyhow, if anyone has any pics from last night send them to pics@emyouthemagazine.com and we'll get them on the website. If anyone has any other pics to share please send them in.
