A great student organization to do a spotlight for would be EMU Circle K. We are a growing and dedicated community service organization and one also of the organizations which Robin Miller, November Student Spotlight, is a part of.

Circle K isn't very well known and it would be a great way to get the word out, but also show students the importance of doing community service. Although we are one of the smaller Circle K's in the district, we are well known for our dedication and efforts as a small group. We are also truly like a family, filled with unique personalities and backgrounds all committed to doing what we can to make a difference in the world.

Thank you for your consideration,
Rachel W.

I'll definitely check it out. Sounds pretty cool, what does Circle K do? Thanks for the suggestion Rachel!

Circle K International is a Kiwanis-affiliated organization for college students which is promotes community service, leadership development, and fellowship. EMU Circle K has been continually growing and slowly reaching towards charter strength which is 20 members. The members we do have are highly enthusiastic and motivated students who want to help their community in any way possible.

Our main focus is children, but we try work with a variety of issues. We have worked with Greening of Detroit, Relay for Life, The Corner Health Center, FestiFools, Toys for Tweens and Teens, among many others with plans to continue working with these organizations in the future. We are also planning to work with the Humane Society of Huron Valley next semester and a 24 hour service event in February.

We do a lot of inner clubbing with other Circle Ks in the district including UofM and MSU. It is a great learning experience when we get together with other clubs to discuss what we have been doing and to work on projects together.

Being part of Circle K is truly a unique experience and I'm sure anyone who has been part of it can agree.
