National Day of Service?

While perusing my daily blogs, I came across a great topic on markmaynard.com:

National Day of Service

Check out the link for all the details, but basically Michelle Obama is calling for members of communities to get together and make a difference on Martin Luther King Jr. Day: Monday, Jan. 19th.

So the question, I propose to you-EMU student, is what are you going to do to make a difference? No, I don't mean, you're going to switch from Natty Light to Bud Light for the day. Something a little more profound than that. Are you going to gather your dorm floor together to go to one of the events happening on campus, get together with your Fraternity or Sorority and plan a fundraiser, round up some friends and have a benefit dinner down at Cady's??

Just because you have the "day off" from class doesn't mean you should just sit and veg out all day. Trust me, at first it may seem more of an annoyance to do some good, but you'll feel much better about yourself after you do.
